GBGGGJDSFJFDSJSDFJJKXDear Chicago SERVE participant,
First, please note I would like to receive a reply from you toacknowledge receipt of this email.
I wanted to let you know that I will be asking you to take a specialvaluable learning role at the upcoming SERVE in Chicago. About halfof the time that we are in session during the SERVE weekend, we willbe meeting in small groups. The small groups will be putting intopractice the specific skills that we will have just discussed togetherin a large group presentation format, by working on a detailed projectplan for a chapter event. Brothers from many different chapters willbe in the same small group, although the small group will role playthat it is a committee of one chapter. Part of the learningexperience for everybody during the weekend is the evolving dynamicsof a small group team.
Each small group will have an advisor participant, and I have in mindfor you to be an advisor participant. You will be very much aninvolved participant in your small group, but you will be role playinga chapter advisor. Hopefully you are familiar through first-handexperience with what good APO chapter advisor do: they coach, theymentor, they encourage, but without taking over and running the show.Learning how to do this effectively is valuable for your ongoinginvolvement in Alpha Phi Omega (to your chapter, section, region, etc.) as well as in other organizations.
We will have some additional information for you about this role, andduring the weekend we'll try to make time for all of the advisorparticipants to briefly meet together with one or more of the SERVEpresenter staff. And any of you would be welcome to reach out to theSERVE presenter staff individually to solicit our thoughts on whatactions you should be taking within your small group in your role.
If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Dear Chicago SERVE participant,

First, please note I would like to receive a reply from you to
acknowledge receipt of this email.

I wanted to let you know that I will be asking you to take a special
valuable learning role at the upcoming SERVE in Chicago. About half
of the time that we are in session during the SERVE weekend, we will
be meeting in small groups. The small groups will be putting into
practice the specific skills that we will have just discussed together
in a large group presentation format, by working on a detailed project
plan for a chapter event. Brothers from many different chapters will
be in the same small group, although the small group will role play
that it is a committee of one chapter. Part of the learning
experience for everybody during the weekend is the evolving dynamics
of a small group team.

Each small group will have an advisor participant, and I have in mind
for you to be an advisor participant. You will be very much an
involved participant in your small group, but you will be role playing
a chapter advisor. Hopefully you are familiar through first-hand
experience with what good APO chapter advisor do: they coach, they
mentor, they encourage, but without taking over and running the show.
Learning how to do this effectively is valuable for your ongoing
involvement in Alpha Phi Omega (to your chapter, section, region,
etc.) as well as in other organizations.

We will have some additional information for you about this role, and
during the weekend we'll try to make time for all of the advisor
participants to briefly meet together with one or more of the SERVE
presenter staff. And any of you would be welcome to reach out to the
SERVE presenter staff individually to solicit our thoughts on what
actions you should be taking within your small group in your role.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
